Started my modeling career building stick-and-tissue rubber-powered WWII models Graduated to Control Line models and joined the AMA for the first time in January of 1956

College, marriage, and a tour in the U.S. Army forced me to suspend my modeling activities

After returning from the Army, I resumed my Control Line modeling activities on a sporadic basis

In 1990, I decided to try my hand at Radio Control, primarily because there was no Control Line activity in my area. Thanks to the persistence of a local hobby shop owner who was my instructor, I finally soloed. I joined the AMA for the second time. Joined an AMA Radio Control club, the Balsa Bandits of Torrington, Connecticut, in 1990.

In 1991, a job change necessitated relocating to the Nashville, Tennessee area. As a result of a search on the AMA club database, I found and joined the Middle Tennessee Radio Control Society (MTRCS).

From 1993 to the present, I have been a flight instructor, club treasurer, vice president, and president. I was elected president for 2003.

Designated “Member of the Year” for 1994-1995, 1999-2001 Became an AMA Contest Director in August 1997

Appointed AMA District V Contest Coordinator in November 2001 I continue to enjoy Sport Pylon Racing, Combat, Pattern, Giant Scale, and Sport flying as a member of the MTRCS.

The AMA, flying Radio Control, and the MTRCS and its members have become an important part of my life that has given me much pleasure and satisfaction for which I am most grateful.
