District 5 Candidates
Bill Mathews, Birmingham, AL (incumbent). Although Bill is unopposed on the ballot this year, he still urges everyone in District 5 to vote. If you think he has done a good job for the past two years, vote for him. If you think he has not done a good job, write in the name of your favorite candidate or simply write in the word “No” in the space for write-in candidates. Bill has been a modeler for most of his 39 years. He has built and flown Free Flight, Radio Control (he started when escapements were in the state of the art), and Control Line. Now he flies RC Glider and RC assist Old Timer for sport and some Free Flight in competition. He has tried to increase interest in - and communication about - Free Flight and Control Line by publishing newsletters for both of those special interests. If you fly either FF or CL and are not on his mailing list, send him your name and address and interest.
Because of the large number of RCers, Bill prefers to work with RC clubs, and he enjoys receiving club newsletters in order to keep up with what is going on. Any member of the district, or of any other district for that matter, will get a speedy response to a letter. District 5 has a great future and Bill would like to help keep it moving.
