Everett Angus wrote the following letter in the AMA’s news bulletin, Model Aviation, in October of 1946.

Dear Academy Member

It is with much pleasure that I take office as president of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. To many this position would mean that they had at last reached the top. To me, it is a new beginning at the very bottom.

I wish that I might in some way thank each that worked so hard for my election. Everything that I hope to be able to do while in office will be toward a “thank you” for the confidence placed in me.

The model builder will be called upon as never before to build a stronger Academy. A great many in industry are eagerly waiting to give their support to the vast model empire which is fast coming to the front. The newer leaders are planning great things and they will certainly be given every chance to work and produce.

Being in no way connected with model aviation as a business places me in the unique position of not having to offer or accept favors from anyone. Those selected to serve in all phases will most certainly come from the ranks of those who have shown their interest is in the right direction. It matters not whether the individual be the world’s leading maker of model material or just an unknown except for his local work.

Our program is great. There is a place for every unselfish person to show his wares in this undertaking. The youth of America look to us for help. It must be done.

I am pledged to treat with equal fairness anything or anyone having any connection whatsoever with model aviation.

Sincerely, E. N. Angus, President Academy of Model Aeronautics

Angus Resigns

It was with much regret that we learned that E. N. Angus of Oaklyn, New Jersey, has had to offer his resignation as Vice-President of the Air Youth Division of NAA. Mr. Angus has found it necessary to do this because he has left his previous employer, Eaveson & Levering Company, to enter his own business. The company has been named E. N. Angus Associates and their business is consulting, designing, contracting, manufacturing, drying, conditioning, curing, heating, cooling, ventilation, carbonizing, de-painting, dusting, opening, and blending for the textile, lumber, and leather industries. We wish Mr. Angus the best of luck with his new business.
