Bill Winter wrote the following in his “Just for the Fun of It” column in the May 1981 issue of Model Aviation magazine.
“Bob Veazey”
A member of the Delaware RC Club, Bob has flown RC for 19 years. During the 1940s, he was active in CL Speed, held one national record, and flew in the Plymouth International Meets. He believes he may have been the first to use metal pans, which he disguised by painting. George Fong of Hellrazor fame saw these pans, and a year later set his national record. Bob put in a combat tour in Korea, instructed in T-28 and T-33 aircraft, joined All American in 1955, where he has served as Test Engineer, Design Engineer, Project Engineer and Program Manager. Projects included tests of shipboard arresting gear, runway overrun batteries, surfaceto-air pick-up systems, mid-air retrieval systems for parachute data capsules and reconnaissance drones, and launch and ground recover equipment for remotely piloted vehicles. In spite of business-limited modeling, he manages to participate in club activities, such as Quickee races, Pattern and Scale contests.
