Nathan P. Andress

Nathan P. Andress of Winnemucca, Nevada, received $1,000 to help defray his expenses at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona. Nathan attended Albert Lowry High School in his hometown, from which he graduated with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.979 and ranked number two in a class of 137 students.

Nathan was a member of the Honor Society for three years and became its treasurer during his senior year. In addition, he was a three-year member of the Science Club, while also finding time to compete in wrestling, track, and weight lifting. Active during a seven-year period with the Boy Scouts of America, he shared his skills and knowledge with newcomers and worked diligently to reach the highest Boy Scout rank – Eagle Scout.

To earn money for a variety of needs, he mowed lawns in summertime and held a part-time job at a local theater.

His love for model aviation began several years ago, and after building his first model, he became involved in the founding of a chartered club.

Nathan was honored in 1992 with a Nevada High School Scholar Award and a Presidential Academic Fitness Award.
