My father introduced me to Free Flight and Control Line flying in 1956. In 1959, I was an AMA Air Youth State Champion (AYSC) and attended my first Nationals in Los Alamitos, California. Again, in 1960, I was an AYSC and AMA sent me to the Nationals in Dallas, Texas, where I won my first National Championship trophy.

I have attended over 25 Nationals and have been National Champion in Free Flight and Control Line events. In Control Line Racing, I have held many national records. I currently [2002] hold one national record in F2C.

In 1993, I switched my modeling attention from AMA events to FAI so I could compete on the World Championship level. I have been on the 1996, 1998, 2000, and 2002 F2C World Championship teams. There is nothing else in model aviation that compares to representing your county and your organization (AMA) at the World Championships.

I also fly Radio Control Sport, Electric, and Combat for relaxation. I am a member of the Space Coast Aeromodelers and the Indian River Radio Control Club. In 1993, I formed the National Control Line Racing Association (NCLRA), which is an AMA Special Interest Group. I have been an AMA member since 1956 and at present [2002], am the Chair for the Control Line Racing Contest Board
