Richard Matava, Vice President of District I is married, has one child and lives at 358 Prospect Ave, Hartford, Connecticut. Dick started building his first rubber model in 1931 and joined the AMA in 1946. His favorites now are Control Line and Radio Control. He directed the State Championships (Connecticut) for three years and the Plymouth eliminations for two years. He is a construction foreman.

Dick feels that the model aviation field is unlimited if all modelers work together for modeling in general instead of for their own pet projects.
