We Remember

After a long illness, museum volunteer Roger W. Lane passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2002.

Roger was a master tool and die maker retired from Aircom. He had been a member of the Central Indiana Aeromodelers (CIA) since its inception in the 1960s and served as president of the organization in the early 1980s. He won the CIA Non Gas Championship in 1986 and again in 1992.

Roger had been a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics since the early 1940s. In 2000, he became a valued volunteer in the AMA’s National Model Aviation Museum. Being a generous man, Roger donated a band saw, a scroll saw, and a drill press to Museum to be used in the Restoration Shop.

The museum staff, his fellow volunteers, the CIA members, and the entire Free Flight community will miss him.
