Joe Beuchel of Wausau, Wisconsin, graduated from Wausau East High School last May. He is currently enrolled at St. Norbert College, where his premedical major is biology. Joe was awarded a Charles H. Grant Scholarship in the amount of $4,000.
As a member of the AMA, Joe has built and flown models, along with his father and twin brother, since 1995. He is a member of the Wausau Radio Control Sportsmen. In addition to his recreational flying, Joe has developed a newcomer’s Web site for the club.
Joe’s high school activities included being a member of the marching band and jazz ensemble. The groups have performed nationally and have won a number of awards.
High school sports soccer and skiing also competed for his time. Joe participated in the Spanish Club and was a member of the National Honor Society. He was recognized on the Honor Roll for all eight semesters.
Joe was employed at Kmart beginning on 1998. He also worked at Wausau Animal Hospital, where he performed a variety of tasks.
Joe earned a 3.873 grade point average out of a possible 4.0.
His school counselor stated, “When discussing Joe with his teachers, the first thing mentioned is his work ethic. He takes hold of every assigned task and completes it well, without hesitation.” Good luck in all future endeavors.
